"Well, you DO have a good 24 hours at home next week" my supervisor points out as though I'm being demanding.
Serious? 'Fraid so.
I knew things were getting bad last week when I walked myself over to the Popeye's Fried Chicken from my hotel in a bad part of town in Killeen, Texas. Aw hell, who are we kidding? Killeen *is* a bad part of town. I found myself thinking almost optimistically about the prospects for getting abducted by someone or something scary. Thinking that it would keep me from a repeat of my 14 hour shift the next day. That I found the idea of some mishap infinitely preferable.
And it really only got worse from there.
I gave my 2 weeks today, now I'm just wondering if I can really, really take 10 more days in Houston.
The two weeks only serves to allow me to be reconsidered for hire at a later date.
As if.

Yeah, Cake, what're you complaining about? You've got one whole day! (rolling eyes)
I'm sorry too. No one can say you haven't given it a damn good try.
